Flood lights, commonly referred to as security lights, give you the flexibility to illuminate a significant amount of your property without having to install numerous bulbs at the exterior of your home. However, the installation of flood lights is not simply about purchasing them and putting them on our property. Lastly, when it comes to the location of the flood lights, ensure that they are mounted high. This is to protect them from any tampering or unnecessary contact, such as by tree limbs.

Consider the finish on the flood lights

An often overlooked consideration when it comes to the purchasing of floodlight is the type of finish that they come in. This is because some homeowners will simply view them as additional bulbs on their property. The reality is that flood lights are considerably large, thus they will be conspicuous. Therefore, it would be ideal to select a finish that will complement the exterior of your home so as to enhance the kerb appeal of the property.

Additionally, consider a protective casing for the flood lights. This will keep it protected the bulbs from the elements, preventing the need for premature repairs. There are a number of materials that you could choose for your protective casing ranging from copper, stainless steel or powder coated aluminium.
